Product Development: Luksea's First Ocean Test
LUKSEA RECENTLY SWAM OUT FROM BONDI BEACH IN THEIR INAUGURAL OCEAN TEST. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT BOTH THE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE WERE SUBMERGED UNDERWATER AND THE TRIAL WAS A SUCCESS.
Luksea founder, Nicole McMahon began the test with Mechatronics Engineer, Thinesh Manisekaran, while the rest of the team watched on from the shore. To everyone's delight, the team received a clear signal which was sustained throughout the course of the swim.
“The successful pilot involved Thinesh and I throwing on some wetsuits while the rest of the team tracked our location signal from the shore”, says McMahon. “The team was so excited when the signal stayed stable during our 200-meter swim.”
This test marked major strides with the Luksea proof of concept. With their prototype now in the final stages of development and testing, Luksea has set their sights on user testing and customer interaction. The team has come a long way since being awarded $25,000 from the NSW Government Minimal Viable Product grant. Read more about that here.
